UK managed services provider Quiss Technology has entered a strategic partnership with UAE-founded generative AI startup Qanooni AI; a Microsoft 365-embedded tool that helps lawyers draft, review, and research legal content in Word and Outlook.
Qanooni was founded in the United Arab Emirates in 2024 by former lawyers and engineers Anuscha Iqbal, Ziyaad Ahmed and Karim Shiyab. Rob Lawson is joining the team as head of sales and partnerships to launch Qanooni in the UK. Lawson a legal tech sales specialist was previously a civil litigator.
The partnership will see Quiss, a certified Microsoft partner specialising in Azure, 365, Teams and Copilot, integrate Qanooni's platform into its portfolio of services. Quiss has a large range of law firm clients and a limited number of technology partnerships. Other partnerships include AI timekeeping solution Laurel, which recently raised a $100m Series C.
Qanooni in June raised $2m with the backing of Village Global, Salica Investments' Oryx Fund, TA Ventures and a group of strategic angels. There are further raises on the horizon. The raise was to help the company expand across the UAE and UK, and it is worth noting that Qanooni is currently working on a pilot with two UK top 100 law firms.
The Qanooni platform supports first-draft generation and legal research to clause-level contract review, litigation chronologies, and matter summaries. We're told it integrates with document management systems and adapts to internal tone, templates, and playbooks.
